Black Graduate Students Association at the University of Alberta is a community of motivated graduate students of colour based at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. We encourage and support goal-oriented scholarly and professional development, and social integration of black graduate students within Canada's academic, professional and socio-cultural spaces.  We believe BGSA will foster spaces where black students can conceptualize, aspire and overcome different levels of barriers on their paths to achieving their dreams and becoming the best versions of themselves. Through advocacy, outreach activities, networking and mentoring, amongst other programs directed at uplifting the black community within the academy and workplace, our team works tirelessly to contribute their part to the greater good of people of colour and diverse Canadian communities in general.
